Three Amazing Sisters: Capturing Sibling Love in Portland Newborn Photography

There is a unique magic that happens when older siblings meet their new baby brother or sister. As a photographer, while I see a lot of wonderful families, the Ginn family—Jessica, Patrick, and their three amazing girls—truly stood out. The dynamic in the studio was a beautiful reminder of the profound joy it is to have a bigger family. For me, this isn't even a job when I get to spoil babies and witness such genuine love!

Capturing the Sibling Dynamic

The focus of this session was not just on the tiny new baby girl, but on the connection between three amazing sisters. The two older girls were incredibly gentle and caring toward their new baby sister. The older girls were so protective and sweet; it was clear they were taking their new role as big sisters very seriously!

We captured a variety of sibling portraits, emphasizing those soft, tender interactions that are so easy to miss in the rush of the first few weeks. From gentle kisses on the forehead to the subtle holding of a tiny hand, every moment spoke volumes about their excitement and immediate bond. These portraits are often the most treasured for families, as they capture the beginning of a lifelong relationship.

Focusing on the Newest Arrival

Of course, we dedicated plenty of time to capturing the newest arrival on her own. We used a soft, feminine color palette that beautifully complemented the girls' outfits, creating a cohesive look for the final album.

We wrapped her snuggly to keep her comfortable and sleepy, allowing us to transition through various safe and delicate poses. Those tiny hands, the delicate profile, the perfect button nose—we made sure to capture all the details that change so quickly in the first few weeks.
