Jenni and her husband, incredible people first of all. Found me in the local Happy Valley Moms group and reached out after seeing they were expecting a girl. After a few tries with IVF treatment, they were blessed with their first child. I personally love hearing these stories from my clients because I can curate that much better for my sessions going in.
When they arrived, she showed me this onesie that was given to her from the nurses that helped delivered. They took very good care of mom and baby and she wanted to dedicate an image to send a thank you card. I literally thrive on sentimental efforts! (Hold back that tear, do not do this right now Josie!).
They are most deserving and super blessed, but excuse me while I ogle over those cheeks of hers! If you are interested in having a professional newborn photo shoot of your little one, contact me for more information or to book a session!

The reason why I take the time to give a consultation at my portrait studio, is to visually carry out parents wishes and dreams. Now Dad tells me he is second generation to graduate from the University of Oregon and see to it about making a tradition. This is how legacy begins. This, is family history in the making.
Jordan Kent is also the correspondent for the Portland Trailblazers so Oregon is definitely on the maps here- roaring PDX loud and proud.
Not only do we have all those happening, there's also that Calvin has ice-blonde-hair and gorgeous as Mom. And Tiffany, by the way is a TV chef making delicious recipes.
Ok, enough of me blabbering- let us enjoy... if you are interested in having a newborn photography session, contact me today for more information!

Oh Kenzo... this marks our half way through his Baby's First Year package and its usually one that I look forward to the most!
They change so much since their newborn session by this point and able to wobble around being little explorers. Not to mention the chunkiness and the dough-eyed cute monster-eating machines that we just all want to squeezeeeee, arghhh!
Oh, and he even brought his reading snuggle pal with him. I-just-can't. :)

Doll face is what she is! Parent's had just moved from another country with a chiropractic office so they had their plates full to say the least. However, even then they knew the importance of documenting this journey, a start of a new life with fleeing times.
I was impressed first time parents caught on so quickly because it was- one of my biggest regrets as a Mom- not having newborn or maternity photos taken thinking I had all the time in the world. I'm glad that these images of their princess will be cherished for years to come....

I had photographed their first baby a few years ago and I was delighted to hear Mum's due to expect twin boys this time. But, then I got the text- that one of the baby had passed and was delivered. However, they were able to keep Baby B.
I think I sat there still for a couple of minutes because it was such a fragile moment. I had a lump in my throat and remembering just how to approach not only as a photographer, but also as a friend and a fellow human. Of course, this is the last thing I'd expect to hear from anyone. It broke my heart.
The very least I could do is document to my heart's abilities for the family's memories because this will forever live in their hearts and soul. Not only that, we should celebrate just how resilient Baby B is- this is his legacy!
Parents were over the moon when they found out their second round of IVF treatment conceived their angel. No doubt she is kind of a big deal and so, so loved!
Mama had an "Americana" theme for their wedding and wanted to implement the same colors into their newborn session along with one that would make firefighter Dad proud to his station.. Needless to say, we nailed it.
I often receive questions regarding digital files, and it's just part of the instant gratification era that we've all gotten accustomed to. We love online galleries and having my way with what to print (myself included), it's great for social media postings and sharing with family and friends. But, just keep reading and let me explain a few things here..
To this day, I get emails from clients asking to help recover their photos from session years ago due to a crash on the hard-drive or forgot to download the photos because they were saved on a phone or lost the USB/disk from moving. I started to realize that even for myself, have never gotten around to printing photos from when my baby was- a baby. It's one of the those back burner chores that was not on the priority list because I could just look at them on my phone.
And there it was, why would I start a service but not finish til the end product? Why let Walgreen's or Costco determine how my photograph should or should not look like? Why do my clients often come back to me for prints because they're prints came out with a weird color?
A surgeon stitches the patient back up after surgery, a gardener clears up the pile of grass after mowing, a professor will lecture and then grade your test papers. Well, you're catching what I'm throwing.
Preparation for a digital image requires the same amount of skill set, time, skin retouching and love to an image. The end product I give to you is merely a tangible object for all to admire with other than from a screen. Your keepsake folio print is matted with archival frames, sealed and provided from a professional lab that is capable of handling all of my camera's color data. A digital image is NOT faster, easier, less time to shoot nor do I give less attention to. However, you will receive BOTH matted print and the full resolution digital copy because, I want you to own both. At no additional cost. Because, you're awesome and so am I.
Not only that, but I keep my production time between 5-10 days including the lab print time as they are sent with overnight shipping. I am still able to provide your session with the same amount of time if not even faster than others.
The question is- why have my prints when you can print your own? The honest answer is simply as this: I am providing a way for you to preserve those prints. A keepsake collector's item which is like an album in itself. Plus, you have the freedom to do what you wish with the digital file as well. You may not go through them daily or even monthly. But our babies don't keep, they will grow up in a blink of eye and one day have their own family.
When that day comes, these photographs will be the most cherished possession in comparison to any luxury brand product or appliance you'll own because it is a representation of your livelihood. Your archives will become the most valuable to your family. And, no one ever- ever regrets having family portraits done. This is coming from a Mom whose daughter is soon to be 10 and I'm frantically trying to recover every photo and video I ever took.
Now I know that was a bit of a "food for thought" that snow balled into rambling, I say we both deserve cupcakes now ;)
We're gaining a new team mate for the Oregon Trailblazers! Parents are adorably anxiously awaiting for the arrival of Damian Jr. and I think it's safe to say he's got it in the bag for the best gene pool.
Mum also wanted a clean, white chic background look and boy I am actually looking forward to utilize my skills from shooting editorial and fashion in LA. Of course, we also added in my usual warm toned glam as well.
Needless to say, we're ready to meet Damian Lillard Jr.! If you are interested in having a professional maternity photo shoot in the Portland, Oregon area, contact me for more details!

Lovely little Emma, whose got the best behaved sister and brother. They were incredibly sweet and gentle with their newest baby sister. It was darling and Mum was so in love through every set which made my heart explode even more.
It's always a pleasure when I know a family values and cherishes the memories that will last a lifetime. Material items deplete in value every year, while photos will become more valuable through time. It took me a while to understand that with my own daughter, and now I search frantically through the house for her baby photos because I now have a pre-teen in my hands.
Life, is as is.

Reasons why I love what I do- witnessing miracles. Sometimes we get caught up on our busy schedules and not realize what a miracle it is we are alive, to be well, to be safe. This honey bunches was an IVF baby, Mum had a lot of complications during her pregnancy and she was also born premature with some complications.
When she told me she wanted a photo of her at birth, hooked up to all kinds of machines. I literally cried, because she was a true survivor. You would not be able to tell what she has gone through because she is simply the HAPPIEST soul. I am humbled at the fact that I was blessed to be able to document her striving. Everyday is a blessing, and this was a reminder to us all.
