This sweet boy was so adored before he even made his appearance. I love friends and colleagues that make gift cards towards a session because these are fleeting times for parents with all the other tasks going on. They don't keep, and I'm sure he's not able to fit into my props anymore.

I know, this Mom is perfect. Also carrying her 5th child... I know. With that said, it was a very risky pregnancy and because of that- she wanted to make sure to capture one of the most out-of-the-box photo session yet. I was delighted to carry out her vision because I've done editorials for so many years. I've missed it.
This very timeless yet tasteful approach to boudoir maternity was not only super fun but it had a very touching, heartfelt story behind it too. Happy tears were shared at their reveal and I will never forget this session. I love having siblings in the studio. These kids were super loving and caring for their brand new baby sister. Momma also wanted to recreate some of their older newborn session poses so I made sure there were some blasts from the past!
It actually ended up being one of my favorite classic group shots that I ended up hanging up a large version on the walls. This gorgeous girl visited my portrait studio for her newborn photoshoot with me at a few weeks old. I got some good eye contact and snoozing poses. Her parents really let me have full creativity to build their gallery so I pulled some branches off my yard and added little tidbits of what her birth year was like. With a rat stuffie and all. I love being able to really help customize each portrait session so parents look back on these images and remember all the little features that change so quickly. This beauty came to visit my portrait studio for her 8 month milestone session from their baby's first year package they purchased. It took her a little while to warm up to being in front of the camera (completely normal at this age!) but she finally did. Her parents made a debut at the end of the session and was probably the best part of it all because she finally gave me some big smiles :) Are you interested in planning a baby milestone portrait session in Portland, OR or the surrounding areas? Oh how I love my job. I mean, I get to work with newborn babies... dress them, swaddle them, play with all the fun props I have available or plan fun themes with parents when planning their custom newborn portrait session. Like I said, I LOVE my job! This little one's parents loved the more toned down colors and she slept like a dream, truly, throughout making my already amazing job that much more easy. I love when past clients come back and see me when they've welcomed a new addition in their family. I photographed her baby brother and this time - baby sister. Mom made a collage wall from both of their sessions in their nursery. Are you interested in planning a newborn photography session in Portland, Oregon and the surrounding areas? I met this family 2 years ago with their first born son- August. They had a fur sibling named "Noodle" which was a Shih-Tzu breed and so well behaved. Now fast forward some time- I hear news they are expecting a new member to the clan. A baby girl! I love when clients keep be connected in their journey. I feel like a part of me is given to the session whenever that happens. Like a self-proclaimed Aunt(haha).
I made a cute Easter setup and some other new approaches too. Big brother was curious and the idea of a new baby hasn't yet "sunk" in yet. I live for these moments! Every mum deserves to be transformed into a gorgeous goddess that she is. Carrying a child is a beautiful process and all babies are carried differently. I can say it's one of those moments that I didn't grasp for myself as I felt "large", hiding from the camera at all costs. Something I regret now looking back.
I dedicate maternity sessions with a more editorial approach. It's bold, it's wholesome with just a splash of magic. I want to make each session as tailored as possible to what the colors in each family's home is. Momma mentioned she will have a space themed nursery for her lil' man so I do my best to add little bits and pieces to the session. I've been lucky with all these babies having such amazing fantastic hair by the way!
Big sis is such a doll and I couldn't help but mention that the parents make adorable babies. I mean, the proof is in the "pudding"! This little lady's middle name is Rose. Of course, her parents wanted to incorporate real roses into her session! I even purchased a special rose backdrop and headband just for her too. Because, I love spoiling my babies.
Not only is she super gorgeous, but the amount of hair she has is just a tad fuller than mine at this point =P |
